Parchment

At SweetStamps blog today our theme is Parchment.  Please join us for a chance to win $20.00 in FREE stamps by entering your Parchment creation in our challenge.  If you enter using a SweetStamps stamp you will be entered twice in the drawing.

For this weeks card I used the 7029 Forget Me Not Heart and the 933 Thank You Elegant stamps from SweetStamps.com.  I stamped the heart on 36# vellum using White Dye ink and heat embossed it in Queens Gold fine detail EP.  From the back side of the heart I dry embossed the berries and the open lines around the heart using a 31412 Etching/Embossing mat and stylus tool.  Also on the back side I colored the flowers using a Dove Blender pen and Pitt Artist pens (#167 Green Olive, #136 Purple Violet, #156 Cobalt Green and #125 Middle Purple Pink).  On the front of the image I used a Straight Grid, 31419 Piercing/Perforating pad and a PFTA001 Single Needle Tool to pierce the open area in the heart.

To cut out the image I used the Piecing pad and a 10226 4-Split Perforating Tool, I also used the pad and 4-split tool to cut out the center of the heart.  The Thank You is stamped using Forget Me Not Shades Dye ink from SweetStamps.com.  The French Flairs were die cut using the XL13 French Flair Scalloped from Cheery Lynn Design.  I used a Gold Leafing pen to edge the smaller French Flair and used V2 Vellum Adhesive Spray to adhere the heart to the paper.  I attached the larger French Flair to the 5-3/4" x 5- 3/4" purple square and layered the ribbon over it, taping it on the back.  I used Candi Fix foam dots behind the smaller French Flair and layered it over the ribbon.  The leaves and border are glitter stickers.

Glitter Easter Egg

For this card I started with an A2 white card and used the DL191 Celtic Chain Rectangle Reflections die from Cheery Lynn Designs to cut the design on the front of the card (these dies are easy to work with  and easy to store and there are many different designs).  The egg was die cut using the DL210 Lace Egg Four  and the base for the egg is one of the corners from the B161 Lace Corner Deco A set ( I snipped off part of the corner piece to give it a flat bottom) both dies are from CLD.  To add the glitter to the egg, I used a piece of  2" Super Sticky tape, on the backside of the egg, trimmed it and then added the Sparkly Sweet Glitter from SweetStamps.com.  I put a piece of 36 lb vellum behind the egg and trimmed this out too and added some Candi fix foam dots to adhere the egg to the card.  I used a course pouncer and Forget Me Not and Fortune Teller Shades Dye inks to add some color to the front of the card.  I attached the ribbon to the card by weaving it through one of the open areas on the front and used a micro glue dot to attach the end of it to the inside of the card.  The bow was made using the Bow Easy ribbon maker.  On the right inside panel of the card I attached a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece of lavender card stock to finish the card.
