Gold Bird Cage

At SweetStamps blog today our theme is Silver or Gold.  Please join us for a chance to win $20.00 in FREE stamps by entering your Silver or Gold creation in our challenge.  If you enter using a SweetStamps stamp you will be entered twice in the drawing.

For todays card I started with a white A2 card and a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of printed bird paper from the Authentique Lively 6x6 paper pad both were pounced with Delicata Golden Glitz ink.  The printed paper was outlined with a Gold Leafing Pen.  I stamped the 6007 Robyn Bird Silhouette on Stardream text-weight paper with Distress Embossing ink and heat embossed with Queen's Gold EP then hand cut it.  I die cut the B198 Bird Cage and B117S Mini Fanciful Flourish both from Cheery Lynn Designs from Gold Mirror card stock.  I glued the bird to another piece of Stardreams paper and used Krylon Spray Adhesive on the bird cage to layer it over the bird.  I cut around the bird cage and used foam dots to layer it on the card.  To attach the flourish I used Micro Glue Dots because I wanted some areas to remain loose from the card.  I colored the rhinestones with a YR24 Copic marker.

Lacy Tree Christmas

At SweetStamps blog today our theme is Christmas.  Please join us for a chance to win $20.00 in FREE stamps by entering your Christmas creation in our challenge.  If you enter using a SweetStamps stamp you will be entered twice in the drawing.

For this card I started with a step card using the CS25 Center Step Die.  All the stamps I used are from SweetStamps.com and the ink I used is Satin Rose Shades Dye ink.  I stamped the background design using one of the stamps from the S601 Decorative Elements set, this set of stamps has 7 beautiful design elements that are awesome for creating backgrounds, borders or just stamping alone.  I used a course pouncer on the sides of the card then stamped 9074 Vertical Joy.  I used the Satin Rose ink direct to paper and also sponged the ink on a piece of white card stock.  I stamped the 8006 Lace Tree using Distress Embossing ink and heat embossed it with Fine Detail White EP, then hand cut the tree and used foam dots to attach it to the front of the card.  I used the same piece of colored paper to cut out the B148 Holly Lace Flourish die from Cheery Lynn Designs and used Krylon Adhesive Spray to layer it on the card.

For the inside of the card I used more of the colored paper I made than layered on a piece of white card stock that I sponged and pounced with ink.  I stamped it with the 957 May the Peace and used the corner of the element stamp in the corners of the paper.  To finish it I added more of the Holly Lace Flourish.

Use white dye ink or white EP, then color over the white areas. Here are two splitcoast tutorials: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/blackmagic/ and http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/chalkboard_technique/

Background paper is Bo Bunny Country Garden.  I stamped the 4003 Bold Blooms Tall Corner stamp from SweetStamps.com on black card stock using Distress Embossing Ink and heat embossed it with Fine Detail White EP.  Pitt Pens were used over the embossing to add color.  I used the same technique on the one of the butterflies from the S600 Fanciful Butterflies set.  Delicata Golden Glitz ink applied with a course pouncer on the black card stock for added color.  Black photo corners were used to attach the colored piece to the background paper.  To finish the card I added pearls and used Krylon Adhesive Spray to attach the 98256 Pepita Border from Memory Box.

Birds of a Feather

This card was made by embossing the Crafts Too 3055 Scrollworks Embossing Folder on a piece of Tim Holtz Kraft Core Nostalgic card stock.  The following Shades Dye inks were applied by sponging and applying direct to paper-Nightfall, French Roast, Brownie, Cream of Wheat, Vanilla Cream, Latte, Sandcastle and Beach.  The Memory Box dies used were the 98160 Perched Reedbird and the 98187 Woodland Branch, I cut the bird twice so I could layer one on top of the other for dimension.  The hanging metal birds were made from black Vintaj Art Metal small rectangles that were embossed using the Woodland Birds Sizzix Vintaj embossing folder.  After embossing the metal it was painted with Aged Metal Vintaj Patina, once it dried the paint was partially removed sanding it with a Vintaj Reliefing Block.  The metal pieces were attached to the branch with black wire.  The ribbon was colored with Nightfall ink to tone down the shiny color (it was a shiny rusty color).  the black bottle cap was covered with a Vintage 1" Bottle Cap Image and attached to the card.

It's a Perfect Night for Halloween 2012

Here's one the Halloweens cards I made for this year.  All the printed paper is from the Blackbird 6x6 paper pack from Memory Box.  I used Krylon Spray Adhesive to attach all the the dies to the card.

The front of the card was done using 98374 Dancing Skeleton and 98408 Creepy Web Frame dies, B1886 Perfect Halloween stamp and Blackbird 6x6 paper, all from Memory Box.  The bottle caps were topped with Halloween Craze 1" Bottle Cap Images.  The frame with the sentiment is the MFD014 Rectangle #3 die from Nellie Snellen.

The left inside of the card was done using the B191 Spooky Tree, B195 Creepy Gate, B197 Pumpkin Swag and DL191 Celtic Chain Rectangle Reflections Boutique die all from Cheery Lynn Designs.

The right inside of the card was made from the MFD014 die from Nellies, the 98376 Ghost Trio and 98409 Swooping Bats from Memory Box and the B173 Lace Corner Deco H die from CLD.
