Stamped Frame

At SweetStamps blog today our theme is Stamped Frame.  Please join us for a chance to win $20.00 in FREE stamps by entering your Stamped Frame creation in our challenge.  If you enter using a SweetStamps stamp you will be entered twice in the drawing.

For this weeks challenge I used the 440 Artistic Trading Card (ATC) Frame from SweetStamps.com.  I stamped it on cream card stock, once using Latte Shades Dye ink from SweetStamps.com and once using Distress Embossing ink , this one I heat embossed with Medieval Metals EP.  I used the Latte ink direct to paper to add color to the embossed frame and the back side of the other frame.  I hand cut both the frames and also cut out the center of the embossed frame.  I stamped 534 Claudia from SweetStamps.com on cream paper using Tuxedo Black Memento ink and colored her with Copic markers then cut her out.   The DP I used for the background is from the 6" Glitz Vintage Blue paper pack.  To assemble the frame I first adhered a piece of acetate behind the opening in the embossed frame.  I used 1/16" foam dots behind Claudia and layered her to the DP.  To attach the front frame to the DP I used 2 layers of 1/8" foam dots to get the depth I needed.  The frame stamped in Latte ink was attached to back of the DP piece.  I cut (2) 11"x 1/4" strips of cream card stock, used the Latte ink to add color,  added adhesive to them and fit them between the 2 frame pieces, trimming off any access.  To finish the frame I added an easel stand on the back.

With Sympathy

All papers for this card were from my stash, not sure where I got them.  The die is the DL153 Polynesian Sails Doily die from Cheery Lynn Designs.  I cut a backer out of blue card stock since I didn't have a DL153A Polynesian Sails Doily Angel Wing at the time.  The image is the 245 Bird on Flowering Branch colored with Copic markers and the sentiment stamp is the 9043 Vertical With Sympathy stamped using Tank Shades Dye ink both stamps are from SweetStamps.com.  Pearls and Roses were from my stash.

Old Fashioned Wish

At SweetStamps blog today our theme is Vintage/Shabby Chic.  Please join us for a chance to win $20.00 in FREE stamps by entering your creation in our challenge.  If you enter using a SweetStamps stamp you will be entered twice in the drawing.

For this weeks card I used the 6" Glitz French Kiss paper pack.  For the bottom layer I cut two 3 x 6" pieces and layered them to a 6" square card.  Starting with a piece of Beckett Expression Candlelight paper I cut an oval using the XL7 Oval Stacker die set from from Cheery Lynn Designs and stamped the 1900's Lady from SweetStamps.com using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I colored the image using Copic markers, E00, E27, R20, W3 and W5.  I used a course pouncer and Tuxedo Black ink to add the speckles around the image.  Using the DL190 Oval Lace Reflections die from CLD I cut 2 separate half ovals using the smallest of the lacy dies ( I did this because the solid oval and the lacy oval are not quite the same size and I had to adjust it to fit).  I layered one lace oval half behind the image and trimmed off the excess that was to wide and attached this to the oval that I colored.   I did the same for the lace oval on the bottom half but before attaching it to the oval I layered the B159 Francesca Border from CLD between the oval and the lace oval.  Then I layered the oval and border to the card.  The corners are from the B164 Lace Corner Deco D set from CLD.  I used All Purpose Adhesive spray to layer them to the card.

The flowers are made from a combination of the B164 Lace Corner Deco D, B129 Cherry Blossoms, B154 Medium Rose and B152 Mini Rose all from CLD.  I used brads to hold the petals together and foam dots to attach the flowers to the card.  I cut an oval from the XM7 Little Stacker Ovals and stamped it with the 9065 Old Fashioned Wish from SweetStamps.com then trimmed the excess.  I layered this to the card and added the Black Self Adhesive Pearl Strip from Kaiser Craft to finish it off.

Happy Belated Birthday

I was late with a card for my son's 37th birthday so I made this Belated Birthday card.  The papers are some I had in my many stacks of 6x6 papers.  The dragonfly is the DL146 Dragonfly Large with Angel Wings from Cheery Lynn Designs.  I heat embossed the sentiment 916 Happy Belated Birthday from SweetStamps.com using Distress Embossing Ink, Nightfall Shades Dye ink and Fine Detail Clear EP (to make the dye ink  embossable first ink your image with the Distress Embossing ink, then ink with the dye ink, then stamp on your paper, apply EB and heat set).  I added two different border stickers and Metalique-Bronze Candi.  I used a W-5 Copic marker to color a small wooded tag, outlined it with a Gold Leafing Pen and stamped the  9091 Son stamp from SweetStamps.com in Delicata Golden Glitx ink from Tsukineko.  I also used the Copic marker to color the piece of twine that I used to hide the seam between the two papers.
I used a Quickie Glue Pen in the open areas of the dragonfly to add Sugar Sand to the wings.  For the inside of the card I embossed the 9115 Happy Thoughts from SweetStamps.com using the same technique as before.  The flourish is the B170 Mini Flourish One from CLD.

Lattice and Egg

For this card I used the FRM133 French Lattice Large, DL213 Lace Egg Seven and B154 Medium Rose dies from Cheery Lynn Designs.  I followed the directions for Stacey's Sparkling Stained Glass Technique but substituted Sugar Beads for the glitter and did not color the backside.  The flowers are made from tissue paper.

I added pearls to the egg and the corners of the yellow paper.

I finished the inside using 949 Happy Easter stamped in Forget Me Not Shades Dye Ink both from SweetStamps.com. and B170 mini Flourish One from CLD.

Easter Basket

For this card I started with a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of white card stock and used one of the newly released stamps from SweetStamps.com the 5001 Three Stripes Border and Nassau Blue Shades Dye Ink to create the striped background, then layered this to a piece of blue card stock.  The Bunny and Chick border B171 the DL214 Spring Basket #1 and the B126 Grass Border are from Cheery Lynn Designs.  I cut the basket once in brown and again in blue (for this one I carefully took the paper out of the die so the pieces would stay in place then layered the brown basket on top of it).  For the border I layered a lighter blue paper behind the border to accent the bunnies and chicks.  I flocked the Bunny using a Quickie Glue pen to adhere the flock.  The eggs were stamped using the 2011 Striped Egg in Nassau Blue ink on paper from the Journey Authentique 6x6 paper pack and hand cut.

I added some Sugar Sand to the stripes on the eggs using the Quickie Glue pen to adhere the Sugar Sand.  Foam dots were used to attach the the eggs and bunny.  For the inside I stamped 2017 Pop Up Bunny with Brownie Shades Dye ink and stamped 2008 Eggs-stra Special Easter in Nassau Blue ink.

For the second card I added the DL191 Celtic Chain Mega Doily and the DL112 Mini Exotic Butterfly & DL 112A Angel Wings from Cheery Lynn Designs.  The plaid background is the

My letter is T

Here is my card using some of the new designs

I started with a 6x6 lavender paper for the base.  I die cut the FRM132 French Lattice Small from Cheery Lynn Designs from white card stock and used All Purpose Spray Adhesive to attach it to the green card stock.  I stamped the 5000 Baroque Border and 3 of the butterflies from the S600 Fanciful Butterfly set all from SweetStamps.com on watercolor paper using Nightfall Shades Dye ink.  Then I colored the images using a paint brush and Shades Dye ink colors Dandelion, Tank, Forget Me Not and Fuchsia Fizz (I like the cases on these inks because you can swish the lid to get ink on the inside of the cover and pick it up with a wet paint brush for water coloring).

I hand cut the butterflies and painted them with Fairy Dust Creative Inspirations paint to add some sparkle, and used a foam dot to attach them to the lattice.  I also painted the border on the Baroque Border.
The white self adhesive string of pearls along the border of the lattice are from Kaiser Craft.

Lord and Lady

For this card I used papers from the 6" Glitz French Kiss paper pack.  The dies I used for the Heart were DL110 Heartland America Large (largest solid heart) and DL106 Heart to Heart Doily (largest heart in set) from Cheery Lynn Designs.  I used the B150 Cuties 2 as a boarder under the heart and the B133 Lace Light Deco Border on the left side for a border, both dies are from CLD.

The swirl is B170 Mini Flourish One and the Flower was made using the SF-2 Stacker Flower #2 and XMC-5 Scalloped Window Stackers from CLD.  The small circle embellishment on the heart and flower are Candi-Seville Row legless brads that were attached using Candi Fix foam dots.  The LR0211 Lord and Lady are a Marianne Creatables die set.  You can find all of the items used at SweetStamps.com
